YouTube Originals Will Be Free On September 24

YouTube Originals will be free on September 24. All new YouTube Originals released after September 24, 2019 will be free to everyone. That means you can watch new YouTube Originals without a subscription. New YouTube Originals will be free to everyone. But YouTube Premium members still get some nice features worthy of the subscription.

YouTube Originals Will Be Free September 24

YouTube Originals are original TV shows and movies. You can watch YouTube Originals on the YouTube Originals channel.

YouTube Originals shows and movies used to be reserved only for YouTube Premium and YouTube TV subscribers.

But on September 24, 2019 that all changes.

On September 24, 2019 all newly released YouTube Originals will be free to watch – with ads.

New YouTube Original Shows Will Be Released On a Scheduled

For non-subscribers to YouTube Premium, new Original shows will be released on a schedule… perhaps weekly? You can watch the YouTube Originals free with ads as they are released. Or you can binge-watch the entire series for free after all of the shows have been released.

BUT, only YouTube Premium subscribers can binge-watch the entire series at once on the day it is released.

Ads – To Watch Free YouTube Originals

You have heard the saying that nothing in life is free. To watch free YouTube Originals you will have to watch some ads.

BUT, YouTube Premium subscribers can watch shows and movies ad-free.

YouTube Premium Content

At this time, only NEW YouTube Originals released after September 24, 2019 will be free. Some of the shows and movies released before September 24, 2019 will also be free with ads. But some of the shows and movies will continue to be only available to YouTube Premium subscribers.

It isn’t clear yet “if” or “when” all of the YouTube Original content will be available to non-subscribers.

So at least for now, some YouTube Original content will continue to be available exclusively to YouTube Premium members. See the list below.

However, a few shows will be free to watch for a limited time.

The first season of the Cobra Kai will be available from August 29th to September 11th. And season two of Cobra Kai will be available on September 11th.

Other YouTube Originals that will be available free with ads for a limited time include Groom, Impulse, Liza on Demand, and Mind Field. YouTube hasn’t released the dates these shows will be available free with ads.

YouTube Premium

YouTube Premium isn’t going away.

YouTube Premium members still get some nice features worthy of the subscription.

And if you don’t like to watch ads or if you like to binge-watch an entire TV series as soon as it is released, YouTube Premium may be what you want.

YouTube Premium subscribers can continue to watch YouTube Originals without ads. And Premium subscribers will also be able to binge-watch an entire new TV season as soon as it launches. PLUS, YouTube Premium subscribers get all the benefits of YouTube Music Premium.
