Sling.com Website Updates

There have been lots of updates to the Sling TV website. The new Sling TV website has a clean and crisp look with a base color of white and a secondary accent color of light blue. This is in contrast to the previous website colors of black with secondary colors of bold orange, blue, yellow, and other colors. This new color scheme has the same colors as the AirTV Player.

Sling TV YouTube.com Updates

In addition to the Sling TV website updates, the Sling TV YouTube.com page has also been updated with the same white and blue color scheme.

New Sling TV Advertising

As part of the changes to the website and YouTube page, Sling TV is rolling out a new new advertising campaign.

Part of the new advertising campaign are new commercials. The commercials are funny, with an overarching theme focused on being picky about your TV and connecting that message to Sling TV providing A LA CARTE TV. The ads can be found on Sling TV’s Youtube page.

Sling TV Roku App Updates

The Roku gets a Sling TV app update with these cool new features:

• Add Channels & More – Add programming Extras  and Premium Channels to your account in just a few clicks. Find this new feature under the “My TV” Sling TV navigation. Programming Extras include A LA CARTE content like Comedy, News, Sports, Kids, and more. Premium Channels include HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and Epix. International channels are available too: Sling TV Has International Channels
• Add VOD to “My Channels” – If you can’t get the live NBC and FOX network channels, you can NOW add the “On-Demand” version of the network channels to “My Channels”.
• New “Micro Guide” – Now you can browse what’s on while you watch TV with the “micro guide”. Press up to see the “Micro Guide” and press down to see bring up the “Full Guide”.
• Get to Your Favorites Faster – Channels you marked as your favorites are now at the top of “Grid Guide” and on the far left of the “Channel Guide”
• Safe Exit – When you press the “Exit” button, you will now get a pop-up notice that allows you to either go back to your show or exit.
• Binge On – When watching an on-demand title, the Sling TV app will now go to the franchise page so you can select other on-demand episodes.

Sling TV Local Channels DVR – OTA (Beta – Live Customer Testing)

The Local Channels DVR (Beta) is a new feature of the AirTV Player. The Local Channels DVR records local OTA TV broadcasts to a hard drive or flash drive. To playback Local Channels DVR recordings, simply go to the DVR section in the Sling TV app.

Local Channels DVR Requirements:

• 50 GB – 1 TB USB Hard Drive or Flash Drive – for storing DVR recordings
• The USB Hard Drive or Flash Drive can only be used with the AirTV Player

Additional Details – Hard Drive / Flash Drive External Storage Device

• Data stored on the external storage device will be erased by the AirTV Player
• Users will receive a pop-up warnings that data stored on the external storage device will be erased
• The TV shows and movies stored on the external storage device may be lost if it is detached from the AirTV Player
