For 2018, Netflix received a stunning 112 Emmy nominations. 112 Emmy nominations is more than any other television producer.

But the number of Emmy nominations isn’t a surprise. Netflix has been producing LOTS of award-winning television shows for a few years now. 2018 is the 6th year Netflix has received Emmy nominations. And each year the number of Emmy nominations has increased.

• 2013 – 14 Emmy nominations; 3 Wins
• 2014 – 31 Emmy nominations; 7 Wins
• 2015 – 34 Emmy nominations; 2 Wins

So, why is Netflix the King of Media?

For the last 17 consecutive years, HBO has received the most Emmy nominations. But in 2018 that changed. For the first time in 17 years, HBO did not receive the most Emmy nominations.

With 112 Emmy nominations, Netflix has TOPPLED HBO’s 17 year record. HBO received 108 Emmy nominations.

HBO also has a 16 year record for WINNING the most Emmys. In 2017, HBO had 29 wins. Will Netflix win more Emmys than HBO in 2018 and break HBOs 16 year Emmy winning record too?
